Moving population
Hi,

As far as I can tell there is no way to single out and relocate a single population unit. When building civil transports it seems to always select the race with the higest population and automatically assign that population unit to the ship.

As a result it seems to impossible to
1) Moving a single unit of race A from a planet with a race B population
2) Replacing all race A population with race B

As far as I can tell this is not posted in feedback treads, so am I just doing it wrong?

Despite that the game automatically selects the highest population type to transfer to your Civilian Transport so you can help populate a lower-pop planet to boost it's food, production, or science rating... you do have the ability to assign population to a specific role as needed by your planet.

For instance, if your planet's population is starving and you've got 2 population producing food while the rest of the population is geared toward science and production, you can reassign those to food so your planet does not grow unhappy and start causing unrest and jump to a neighboring power because of dissent.

Manage your population more effectively... to the point of micro-managing if necessary. I could have a planet with a large population for science and production, but if war is declared I switch that population to production as I'll have to replace any lost ships quickly while my research takes a slower route. Manage your empire or it will fail you.

I had a colony with one captured Bulrathi population point and two other colonies with multiple captured Bulrathi population points. I built and shipped in one point of my own Race (Psilon) to the planet with the one Bulrathi, and then I built and shipped out the one Bulrathi point to one of the two Bulrathi population worlds with no problem.

I was afraid that it would not work out but it did (I was careful to keep the one Bulrathi population from growing on that world).

I think there may be a trick to how it picks which Pop to load on the transport?

It should always be one from the right side of whichever pool.

But the game tends to cycle through the pools (Production, Food, and Research) - as though it is trying to maintain the "Balance" focus. or might it just seem that way (to me) because I leave my Empire set to focus on "Balance"?

Perhaps try putting both Races Population points in the same work area (either production or food) with the population you want to keep (your own I assume) on the left with the popualation you want to move on the right of the one you want to keep.
