Should give you bonus score to your overall end score...

Lame. I miss miniaturation from MOO2.

Because you can't stuff 1000 phasors in a ship anymore? Would be hell of a clicking, though...

Wouldn't be a lot of clicking if we could just type in a number...

Give us evolving miniaturation instead, then whatever after that. It can cost like 20000-40000 rp. At least 1 tech with 10% on all stuff. In MoO2 when you research a category that give only points, that also gave miniaturations for those specials and weapons and unlocked hidden modifiers. .

In this Moo, you cannot miniaturiaze specials which sucks a bit, some specials eats lots of space....

it dont unlocked hidden modifiers, never seen any modifiers added by advanced technolgie research. the modifiers all happend before that in moo2.
but yeah its a little downside that only the researches they added to blow up the research tree a little give space refunds and not each research of the same branch. guess its partly because they intermixed the tree so much it isnt clear to see what is from what branch.

I kind of wish there was a race specific set of super techs at the end of the tech tree - maybe for each category.

@purdueguy ever tryed the Boardgame "Twilight Imperium" ? Its much like MOO and it has what u want. With the last Expansion of it they even got Flagships where each has another Racial Special :) (i talk about the Second Edition, the New One is drastical cut down in content)

Not really a board game guy but sounds cool. I am really interested in the modding capability they have planned, maybe I can create a mod with super techs at end of tree!

Hell, even just being able to get the other tech options you missed along the tree through Evolving Technologies would be worthwhile.

I don't know if "Evolving Technologies" is actually adding to my score. I have been pounding 4,000+ research points into Ev Tech for 20+ turns, when I flip over the "scoring panel" I can see that military, economic, and diplomatic scores are going up, but my Tech score has not. Will this change at end game? Do I need to pass a certain threshhold of evolving tech points?

It doesnt add anything to your score, the text is just wrong there.
If you use UCP you get more ship space afair
