So I have 2 versions of battleships. One battleship and one I call "Launcher", which have almost no beam weapons and just very little defense weapons.
I fill them with missiles, torpedos and bombers/fighters.
I use as many weapon slots as possible for the missiles. And the Daudelous unit(spelling) is critical for this ship.
The Launchers I keep far back in tactical battle.
only way to tell would be building bombers against the antaran victory fleet.
see how effective they are overall.
As for specials, are you stripping them down for more room? I currently still have them kinda tanks up and they work ok, still messing with that balance point, have yet to lose one, so im doing pretty well.
Also, for bigger ships and bases, with new UPC would you say that Bombers are more effective than Heavy Fighters?
And auto resolve has a time limit. I believe it is at 60 seconds, when calculations take longer the stronger (better stats) fleet wins without losing anything. I lost a game once due to that. 8 times i lost with the stronger (but worse stats) fleet -.-
Aside from coop with one frind i generally had no interest in multi, i like moo for reat sp, tactical battles, and a universe and set of races i have come to really enjoy.
