Battle Pods - Please give them back as useful
Maybe Battle pods got nerfed because no one wanted Fighter bays. Maybe they were hit by a drunken Balance Pass. Whatever the reasoning, just get over it and put them back. You seem to be 'honoring' the spirit of MOO2 lately and they used to be just fine. +50% space, No Cost. They are 'supposed' to be an external attachment.. a Pod, after all and they add extra space. At the moment, they are 'offering' 25% extra space and then charging you about 60% of that in rent.

Are overgunned Frigates really dominating multiplayer? Is the destroyer with 165 spaces really swaying the art of space way that much? Later on you get Miniturization which gives you a flat 25% bonus, no? So what's the big deal?

If you put them on a Frigate now, you don't even get enough space for 1 more gun unless you put in outdated tech like a laser cannon and then you might get 2. These are 'BATTLE' pods, they are supposed to allow you to add a bunch of weapons. Since you only get 1 of 2 options for that whole Advanced Construction branch, the one thing you get ought to be worth something.

I still hope this gets changed in the base game, but it is good that we have that option now.

What is the point of having a no brainer ship design choice? This was the case in Moo2.It's fine in Moo4.

I didn't say they were 'free'. I said that the cost could be assumed into the benefit and that the 50% was the excess after cost.

It's reasonable that a ship with battle pods should cost extra production to build, but it does seem a bit silly to have a tech that gives free space take up space itself.

I think the 'Choice' in Advanced Construction is very dumb. You should just get both by default. Honestly, if you got fighters and battle pods, you might even use the fighters since you get a bunch of extra space to put them in... kida makes sense in a way, no?

Subsrcibed. Thank you. Now will it work in my game right now that I already have battle pods being used or do I just rebuild the ship in the design screen and make a new ship or do I need to start a new game?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it should work - I would suggest making a backup of your saved games and then trying to load the game with the mod enabled to see if it does. I would appreciate you letting me know the result if you do that, then I'll update the mod description.

If I am not mistaken Mituna, this is how it worked for me. I went to blue prints and my cruiser was 370/380. Numbers are a bit of but 5.3 here or there is not a big deal. I can't rememeber numbers very well.

So, it seems your mod is not working. YET! This was made under the old values.

So, I tried picking it again, nothing happened, still 370/380. What I did was then select NOTHING, the circle with the dash in it. Now the numbers were flashing red because of an invalid build 370/260 or something like that. I went back and added in pods back again and now I got 320/380 or something like that. So now it seems your mod is working now with a previous save game of mine.

Thanks for reminding me to save my files. I was about to start my game and forgot to do so. So if something goes wrong, I have my old files to go back to now. :)

Hope this helps and makes sense what I just said. Thanks for uploading the mod.

Can someone show me how to make a Battle Pod mod , I want to make a 200% increase because I think 50% is to little and That all the space you want mod is just silly. Would be nice is someone could make an adjustable Battle Pod mod , or small med and large that you get at different time in the game

A battle pod mod should be easy. Just change the space modifier amount in ShipModules.yaml.
