How do you change Combat Modes?
First few combats I let the computer run things and just watched. Now that I am making my own ship designs I want to give commands but cannot figure out how to change the setting. How do I do that?

I believe it prompts you at the beginning of each battle.

I must be skipping past something or have accidentally turned that option off. I don't see the command option each battle.

Yeh, you can switch it off permanently. To put it back on you need to go into Options, Gameplay, Show Tactical Battle Setup.

That's possible. Look at the options there is one under Gameplay "Show Tactical Battle Setup". Try enabling this if it is disabled and I believe it will give you the ability to chose the combat mode prior to battle.

Edit: What Roo said.

There should be a little circular icon in the top left corner of your screen when you're in Tactical Combat. Click that to disable AI

Thank you. The AI really was having terrible taste in how it was using my ships.

and when you get big swarm fleets it doesnt get sny better with the AI.

Well, at least when *I* control the fleet the main beam weapons are pointed at the enemy. AI sends ships wandering every which way. Having to get 360 gun mounts is too much space used.
