This game is fun and creative with many good ideas. Can be both relaxed and strategic and inspiring. I strongly recommend it.

Over the past few times I've grabbed this game to dedicate a few more hours into exploring this game, I find myself increasingly frustrated at how such a wonderful idea for a game could suffer so much from lack of certain aspects.
Before I state some of my issues with this game let me clarify by saying that if it is on sale and seems appealing, I DO recommend picking it up, the first few dozen hours I sunk into this game were wonderful fun and I only started to have gripes with the whole after around 40 hours, which is more than worth the price tag.

The combat suffers from a highly limited redo function and random AI targeting, which makes many fights feel like they end up being nothing more than a dice roll that enemies don't decide one of your character can't take 3-4 hits in one turn (which is the case for quite a few explorers).
Tooltip information varies from good enough to lacking, making it necessary to memorize certain aspects so you can properly construct a highly successful group.
The progression system with unlocking new campfire stories is a fun idea, however unlocking said stories is a grind of opening dozens of packs gained solely by completing areas, which wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't possible to get entire packs filled with duplicate stories multiple times in a row. Playing for 8 hours to open 4-5 packs only to have all of the opened stories be duplicates is quite frustrating, given that said stories can bring interesting new content to the game.
Certain bugs can be devastating to runs, such as moods getting stuck, causing permanent back breaking negative effects in boss fights, or being unable to do campfire stories after going to a single encounter after you have the chance to click the button.

With these and a few other issues in mind, I cannot recommend the game for someone who's looking to sink a ton of hours into a game. I do hope that the developer ends up making a more refined sequel, as the game in general can be quite fun, and would only need some overall improvements to go from good but suffering polish to a perfect game.

A rogue-lite combining an FTL-style map traversal with tactical turn-based combat. The different team compositions and research paths make for an amazing amount of replayability. Highly recommended!

A game to bring out the best kind of ocd degenerate gambler in anyone, but in the most safe and kawaii way possible.

An okay strategy game, but honestly, the rock paper scissors system is too confusing and the game has some unreasonably hard difficulty spikes in certain encounters. It's not really a keeper.

Could be fun, but the "battle" system is terrible with positioning. With resolve being such a precious resource in the game, one person dying early on really guts your resolve resource. Of course, in the battles, the mobs will dance all around characters that are right in front of them to keep targeting one other expedition member over and over and over again. So that one toon is absolutely going to die, there just isn't a way to prevent it. There aren't movement penalties for mobs moving right past your other expedition members, no way to block them from piling on.

Oh, and you can't pick your fighting style. I mean, you CAN, but you'll be punished for opting for the one that maybe is the one that would get you through the fight without succumbing to the crappy mechanics-enabled pile-ons.

Not exactly what I expected. Negligible amounts of strategy, zero puzzles, mostly random spin-of-the-wheel luck and resource spending choices. Sure, your decisions change the outcome in some hidden way. Just not my style, but it may be yours.
