Xbox 360 Controller keybinds not working
In-game it doesn't seem like the game is recognizing my 360 controller for certain keys -- namely the D-Pad, which is pretty critical as that is how you access inventory, squad menu, etc. When I try to assign the binding again in settings it just seems to remove the default binding, but doesn't replace it with the correct controller binding, leaving on the keyboard setting.

Got a similar issue with PS4 controller, D-pad not working properly at all.

Edit: going into the steam overlay and disabling Steam Input, then resetting all controls to defaults in the in-game options seems to have fixed it?

I'm also having issues with my xbox 360 controller. The Y, B, back, and start buttons don't seem to work in-game. My d-pad buttons do appear to work on menus and the other buttons are Ok. My controller works fine in other games + the Steam controller tester. I'm going to try reporting it as a bug to the developers.
Here is the weird thing. I have an official Xbox 360 wireless controller and it's not working right. This is on my Win 11 PC. I have a generic wired Xbox 360 controller on my Ubuntu Linux box and it works just fine. Maybe Microsoft's Windows 11 Joystick drivers suck or the game thinks it's a Xbox One controller but doesn't work right? Been just using keyboard and mouse on my Windows PC.

I just tried that wired generic Xbox 360 controller on my Windows 11 computer and works fine. Not sure what is up with my wireless Xbox 360 controller? The strange thing is my controller works fine with every other game. This is the first time my Wireless controller didn't work for a game.

I just tried my official Xbox 360 wireless controller using my official Xbox 360 wireless adapter on my Linux machine and it was working fine. I have no idea why Windows 11 is acting so crap? Maybe I need to find a different driver for the wireless receiver? I'm going to look for a newer driver or roll it back to an older driver. Then again when I upgraded to Windows 11 it broke compatibility with a bluetooth wireless headset I really liked. I'm going out on a limb and blaming Microsoft on this one. Maybe I will wait for a Steam Controller 2 to come out before I using a controller on my Windows 11 computer.
