Yeah, it's a bit of disappointing start with the Humblebundle. That one has been the tier 1 game I really wanted to take a look at :-)

Oh well, on to tier 2...

I have this problem as well. The loading screen after you click start game lasts forever.

Win 7 Pro 64-bit SP1
core i7 3770 @3.5GHz
GTX 680
16 GB RAM

Solution (for me):

In Options, click "Start over?" and then OK.

It worked! Thanks a lot!

Hey everybody, this is Kev the developer...

Thanks siSINka for solving this one for the forum! I thought we'd beaten this bug, but seems to affect systems randomly, making it very hard to pinpoint. I've heard of it happening when the game is downloaded onto two different machines that share Steam accounts, has to do with a machine assuming that the procedurally generated maps are on a machine when they're really not.

Hitting Start Over dumps anything in the game memory and generates all new maps, should be smooth sailing after that.

Hope you enjoy the game,
-k.

Clearing the data fixed the problem for me as well.

I think you can scratch the two machines theory as the source of the problem - This bug hit me the very first time I downloaded the game, on the only computer I've ever installed it on.

Yeah, same here. Played the game for the first time and got the endless loading. Resetting the save through the options menu worked, though.

Maybe the good old "everyone on QA has played the game before..." case where nobody ever starts the game completely fresh :-)

Sorry, Kevin - this reset is not working for me, I get the cat for loading and the audio comment, but then the screen stays black.

My specs: Ubuntu 14.4 (3.13.0-66-generic), 8GB RAM, graphic card nvidia GeForce GT520 (2GB RAM). Comparing it with the settings set in the steam store, it shouldn't be too old, otherwise the game wouldn't have started in the first place, imho.

I had the same thing, just a black screen when starting game. Applied the usual Unity fix of changing launch parameter to "LC_ALL=C %command%" and it started.

Doesnt detect my Logitech F310 gamepad however, but that's a different problem...

Had this same problem running it on a Mac, OS 10.11.1. Clicking Start Over worked. Thx!
