State of the Game: April

Hello Club Members,

As April comes to a close, we wanted to update you on our progress. It's been a very busy month for us, and we have a lot to share!

Firstly, Update 1.1.0 is finally here! Thanks to everyone for your support, even after the delays. In this update, we introduced a new side story, gave you a quick way to access character stories, improved the UI, and so much more. Check out our 1.1.0 Update post for more details.

Here’s something we’re extremely excited about: We have a booth at PAX East this year! We will be at booth 10043 on May 11th from 10am-12pm EDT. We are thrilled to have gotten a booth, and would love to meet you!

We also want to give a big thanks to our Discord community. It’s been amazing seeing such an outpouring of art and memes for the Character Smackdown! If you would like to join in on future community events, just click the Discord icon on the title screen!

Lastly, let’s talk about the future! We are planning to release more side stories in the future along with our regular updates. Act 2 is also coming along nicely; we have made substantial progress on the dialogue, art, and game mechanics. We will continue to push forward and make sure to keep you all up to date!

Update 1.1.0

Update 1.1.0 is out! Here are the changes:

An extras menu, featuring:
- A new side story
- A way to access all character stories you’ve done before
- A way to access all stickers across all save files
Steam achievement integration, based on stickers
Improved menu UI, including:
- A more phone-like look
- The ability to give your save files descriptions
- A save button next to the menu button during regular dialogue
- A sticker menu that’s much easier to use
Character lighting looks better during dialogue
Modifications to Ethan’s sprites
A new sticker for beating the side story
Various typos and grammar fixes

Thanks to everyone for waiting through the delays; we just kept coming up with new features and improvements we wanted to add! Hopefully the wait was worth it.

We hope you enjoy the new side story and UI! New side content will continue to show up in future updates, so please stay tuned.

is it just my pc or does the game have a crashing issue?

the game seems to crash at least once every two weeks in game time, its not a huge issue since the game autosaves so often but its kinda annoying

Patch 1.0.3 is out!

Patch 1.0.3 is out! Here are the changes:

Updated power outage graphics, making them reflect when the power is out in Week 4.
Fixed various typos and grammatical errors.
Added character-specific narration boxes.
- Clarified dialogue where characters besides Neku speak while not on screen.
- Adjusted the history UI to use non-Neku names when appropriate.

We noticed people referencing a specific scene where Neku appears to say Chloe's dialogue. This has been patched, as well as some similar occurrences at other points in the game. Thanks to everyone who brought this to our attention; we appreciate the speculation!

We promised Update 1.1.0 in March. Unfortunately, the scope of the update was too large for the time we had, so we wanted to release a minor update in the meantime. We appreciate your patience and understanding in waiting for the update.

Found hints that explain the ending

I found interesting hints and details after replaying the game that provide some explanations to the cliffhanger at the end (as the story is incomplete yet, they're mostly breadcrumbs, but they're enough to make a general theory of what's happened and what's going to happen in the narrative): *The prologue scene (the very first scene after you start the game, graduation day) is not just a snapshot of the ending, but a different timeline/reality *Neku worked on a short anime film with Akari, Chloe...

i can't play the game

when i start to play the game ,the screen will be black after i see the home page just a little time.if i click on"windows",it becomes normal that i can play for a moment and then black again.I try to check and repair the date but it can't solve the problem.I think this game is a interesting game and i can't wait to play it again....
