I don't know how i came upon a video talking about leap year, but the video mentioned outer wilds styled discoveries and was generally very criptic about the game which sparked my curiosity. Checking it out on steam and seeing overwhelmingly positive had me intrigued, enough to give it a shot especially given the very low asking price and gametime investment. I'm glad i did because honestly leap year is nothing short of a game design triumph. While not as deep or fleshed out as something like outer wilds or tunic, this game still has those same incredibly satisfying eureka moments! There's even one 'WTF' moment at the end which i obviously won't spoil but suffice to say that it blew my mind. It's also incredible how the whole map is recontextualized once you understand all the systems with the 4th quarter of the game pushing you to combine everything you know into a nice challenging final stretch. Apparantly there's a DLC for the game but it's much more difficult and convoluted with no new mechanics that serves more as a precision platforming challenge. I think i'll skip that one as i'm perfectly content having played the base game. On a final note it's insane how cool speedrunning for this game is, and i even did the matching achievements for it because it was really fun! Wether you only play the game to credits, speedrun it or go for 100% in both base and DLC, leap year is an unforgettable little indie gem that's worth your time and money

Worth it! It's a bite sized platformer with a neat little mechanic and some secrets. But it's short, which is great because it _almost_ overstayed it's welcome near the end. But if you like puzzle-platformers, where progress is rewarded with knowledge; you'll love this.
