Why 60fps lock?!
How is a remaster locked at 60fps when the original games are unlocked???!!!!
How can they even call this a remaster..
I expect a fps patch very soon.
Also why did I get only a 25% discount when I own both original games????

Yeah the only thing I can really complain about (as my discount thankfully worked correctly, best of luck on fixing yours) is that is has this stupid 60fps lock. Like.....WHYYYYYYY when so many people are running hardware that would easily run it at 120 or even 240 if they felt like it.

I refunded the game and suddenly it asks only 20€, they changed it after i bought it for 30€ before, wtf. Im gonna buy it again for 20€ now so thankfully the discount works, on second attempt tho. Still very frustrated about the 60fps lock >:(

My guess is the developers targeted the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S first and foremost with a 60 fps framerate lock and the PC version was an afterthought.

Very little effort has gone into the remastering in my opinion. The game actually has FEWER graphics options for example and still only uses a very poor edge-based anti-aliasing method that is akin to FXAA at best. There is no attempt to add TAA or DLAA or even DLSS/FSR/XeSS. The game also stutters more than before too due to switching from DX9 to DX12.

It's a barebones effort in my experience. Sure, the game looks better in places when you compare them - the UI is crisper for starters - but is otherwise 95% the same. This feels more like a cash grab than a genuine remastering effort. A chance for the publisher to sell the games again on the new consoles even though they could play the PS4 and Xbox One versions already via backwards compatibility...

This may be possible via a config file tweak. I will have to look later as I'm sure the LEGO games store their settings in a file either in My Documents or the hidden C:/User/Local folder.

yes they do, but even when i change it in config files, the game is still locked to 60fps. well by that i mean the actual games are locked to 60fps, the launcher itself is unlocked for some reason.

if you only got a 25% discount for both games I'm pretty sure you can ask steam for a refund and then buy it again since it's now 50%.

yeah, i just wrote another comment here that i did this exact thing
It's obvious they limited it to 60fps because the originals had trouble with high fps
NostalgiAddict Oct 9, 2024 @ 7:33am
they had? i played both of the original games on 165fps just fine, so thats not it.
i think its because they mainly focus on the console ports, so they dont unlock fps for pc bcoz its too much work for them. therefore we need to alert them to this problem so they fix it

You have to be kidding me when you say that this version stutters more, the original version of Harry Potter 5-7 had horrible Traversal Stutter every few steps and luckily in this new version those stutters are no longer there.
On the other hand, the original version of 1-4 was quite good.

I'm playing rigth now and seeing some stutterts while I'm walking through Hogwarts. These stutters are very frustating.

I haven't checked years 5-7 yet but 1-4 has been stutter free for myself even while installed on mechanical HDD.
Changing the 60fps lock would probably be a healthy amount of work due to the game's physics/mechanics being tied to fps. Hopefully we could at least get an easy to implement frame double (120Hz) for higher fps down the road in a future patch or something.
Overall, I still think the $10 per game upgrade was worth if you liked the originals.

I thought these consoles were marketed as 120fps.
