in-game graphics extremely low res?
Anyone else seeing a problem with no matter what res you set the game to, it seems to be rendering internally at 720p and upscaling?

The game plays beautifully, but on my 2560x1440 monitor, it looks very very pixelated. I can understand them not redoing pre-rendered cinemas, but it's pretty disappointing that the realtime graphics are also so low res.

Make sure you are setting the resolution to your desired res and then clicking the green play button

It doesn't matter, the game is indeed renders itself in 720p and upscales as needed. It is the way the port was made.
Doesn't really matter, though, given the graphics style.

According to most tech reviews only the Cutscenes are rendered in 720p. Ingame and most in a majority of cutscenes, ie talk sessions are in engine and can scale well beyond 1080p, the difference is night vs day from what I've noticed between the pre rendered cutscenes and the in engine moments in the game.

Hmmmm, you're most probably correct. I've noticed pixelization only in cinematics.
That doesn't sound right, it looks very smooth to me. Are you sure the game is saving your resolution options?

Ingame render works fine at 4K resolution.

Only pre-rendered cutscenes are 720p.

Hmm, sounds like some people are getting higher resolutions to work. However, when I set mine to 2560x1440 and hit the green arrow, I just get the 720p upscaled resolution stuff. Maybe there's some sort of bug that only applies higher internal rendering in certain cases instead of all the time?

I'll try it on another box with a different video card tonight, see if it works correctly there.

Again you're probably confusing the cinematics with the in-game graphics.

Superscooter: I'm really not. I'm talking about the in game engine, when you have control of characters. On my system, it is absolutely rendering at a lower res and then upscaling.

Apparently some people had similar issues with resolution. Their fix was to set the launcher and game executable to Run as Administrator on their compatibility tabs. At first it was used for some people to be able to save the game, then someone else changed those settings and got their resolution to work, as well.

Just tried on my home machine, and it seems much better. Must just be a problem with my work system, I'll keep poking at it to try and figure out what the difference is.

Have you checked in the config launcher to make sure that it is using your GPU? There have been numerous threads about the config defaulting to onboard gfx as opposed to the GPU, maybe this is causing the game to revert to its default; the 720p resolutions, when the APU tries running a 3d application since it can't handle 2560*1440

That seems like a possibility. I'll check that tomorrow and see.

Maybe you don't have admin rights and the configurer is not saving

Edited the config XML file manually, and that seems to have worked for the most part. Still looks a little pixelated in things like the conversation windows, but that may be unavoidable. Thanks for the suggestions, all.
