It's mostly because many of us use a Mac for work related things, so it's nice being able to game on it now and then too. There are many options of course like bootcamp and what have you, but a native port is sometimes nice just out of convinence or if you're on say a macbook.
If you're a hardcore PC gamer...then you simply build a gaming rig obviously. Still, you'd be surprised how many games are compatible for the Mac these days.
Normally I would readily agree, but Sega is one of the few big publishers to really push for Mac support. Many of their great titles are on the App store or on Steam via SteamPlay. So it's possible we'll see this title ported in a few months.
There are actually some huge differences in architecture between SteamOS and OSX due to OSX being BSD. A version made for one will not necessarily work with the other.
And the chances of a Mac port are sadly incredibly small. PC Gaming is a niche in Japan and Macs as a platform are virtually nonexistent.
And as I said, both OSX and Linux/Unix aren't really used much in Japan (at least in the consumer market.) SEGA is a Japanese publisher and there are very few Linux/OSX compatible Japanese games for this reason.
