I wouldn't say that. Alicia's just the most outlandish example. But shoehorning the Faldio love triangle bit, seriously warping Alicia's personality and by extension a lot of the romance plot, giving the supporting characters even less shrift, and making Welkin act llke a hothed seriously pulled it apart IMHO.
That being said, I do think *some* of the changes were interesting or beneficial. The idea of the "orphanage" for ALicia and Selvaria was interesting, as were the little skits on the side. But on balance I don't think it makes up for what was lost.
I'm not sure I'd say they ruined it "completely." There were still a few characteristic and touching moments there, like at the end. But it definitely put a monkey wrench in things.
But I agree that it had a baleful influence on VC2 and possibly beyond. I personally like the game and character sfar better than most seem to, but I do feel they handled it badly.
Considering I've been part of a major RP that takes place in VC2's time and is about fixing it, I'ee had plenty of itme to think about the problems...
Still, it's not the world's worst thing ever. As a supplement or introduction there are far worse things. And I don't grudge anybody who likes it.
You got me off guard. Loved the anime. Will rewatch it and its OVAs!
