True that. Also many people here assume that the sniper had a clear shot on every member of Squad 7 and thus could have picked freely. This is most likely not the case though.

They had the Edelweiss up on the ledge firing smoke round though. Also, at this point Squad 7 ought to be well-known among Imperials. Wasn't Isara also performing maintenance on the Edelweiss at the beginning of the cutscene? That would make it fairly obvious that she's indeed the pilot.
That's not true, if anything it would be her look like an engineer. Pilots rarely run maintenance on their own vehicles. You have specialized people for that.
For example, general Gregor, who was an influential Imperial commander, didn't regard the militia as a threat at all one chapter earlier.
