i try to get Vyse and Aika deployed as much as possible, since i remember them fondly on skies of arcadia.
i also like Marina too, that sniper girl. best sniper.
then there's the alicia, rosy, and.... that big guy with the lancer, since they give bonus cp.
the other 2 are completely random, depending on who hasn't seen any screen time lately for my team. lol
I favor shocktroopers in general. I like fielding Aisha because I find the idea of an eager 12-year-old on the battlefield humorous, especially when fighting the boss battles. Jane, Wendy, and Edy are other shocks I like.
I like to deploy Aika and Melville for the scouts. Sometimes I thrown in Susie because she's got a starring role in the anime.
Marina or Catherine for the sniper. Oscar sometimes too, for the same reason as Susie.
If I need more than Largo for lancers, I like Jann and Elysse. I've not yet unlocked Audrey, though, and I hear she's good.
Engineers I actually rarely use except when fighting lots of anti-tank stuff. I'm pretty good about keeping the Edelweiss out of danger and I can just avoid mines. Dallas and Karl have good potentials.
But for a general all-purpose squad:
Alicia
Aika
Melville
Rosie
Aisha
Wendy
Marina
Largo
Dallas (?)
- Scouts: Alicia, Wavy, Musaad, Nancy
- Troopers: Rosie, Lynn, Maurice (generic)
- Lancers: Largo, Audrey, Dennis (generic)
- Engineers: Knute, Nadine, Claudia
- Sniper: Bill (generic)
Look/Personality:
- Scouts: Nancy, Ramona, Juno, Selvaria
- Troopers: Jane, Salinas, Lynn
- Lancers: Audrey, Jann
- Engineers: Herbert, Ramsey, Claudia
- Sniper: Catherine, Marina
-For scouts there aren't really outstanding ones, although I like Wavy and Juno quite a lot. Ramona can be badass too from time to time. I tend to use them the same way as Shocktroopers, and rarely have more than one Scout besides Alicia in battle.
-I make much use of Shocktroopers, and fortunately there are quite some of them I like very much. My favorite is actually Dorothy (yes, really), she is maybe one of the worst Shocktroopers (Stage Fright and a frail body), but she is cute and I like how she looks... and through some badass actions in Kloden and after I got attached to her. Coby is cool too. And then there is Lynn... need I say anything more? Just Lynn.
-There aren't any really outstanding Lancers for me; I like Walter more than the others though. Rosina is good but I am not too fond of her personality. Audrey is allright for me, I suppose.
-Engineers have gotten quite a big role in my lineups lately, as I tend to use them as front-line troops like Scouts a lot. Surprisingly that works very well, and I love all three of my engineers too. In the first place there is Karl, he is just cute and I like to keep him and Lynn near eachother.
Then there is Ramsay, who just doesn't give a sh!t and has gotten some badass stuff done which made me like her even more. And then, after chapter 14, I got Knute... I love this guy to bits, he is awesome. He has a great personality (and with that I don't mean he is a "good guy", but a very entertaining mercenary-like soldier) and is so badass he saved my @ss the first two chapter battles (both Ghirlandaio ones) he took part in!
-I have found snipers to be only situationally useful, and tend to use only one at a time in battle. My first choice is of course the always dependable Marina, for when I absolutely need to have a certain enemy killed at once. I don't like her emo-ness though... my other sniper is Cezary. I get an odd pleasure by watching him miss a perfectly aimed shot at a nearby enemy by a mile while shouting "Easy one!"... it just never gets old for me. Also I very much like how he is kind of a coward and blames Welkin for everything that goes wrong. (And of course he is the only squad 7-member with a Latin-sounding name... coincidence?)
Marina's not quite as emo as she first seems. Her attachment to small animals is quite adorable, I find.
And Ramsey is actually my favorite personality of the bunch. I just don't take her because her potentials aren't very good, sadly. Same reason I never used Susie until I saw the anime.
Alicia
Wavy: Insanely high base evasion stat, up there with Alicia. His potentials are also excellent, Double Movement, Resist Crossfire, and Power Scout.
Aika: Alicia-lite, can run through interception fire like it's nothing, and also has Double Movement. She works great with Alicia.
Cherry: She has very high base accuracy, as well as Undodgeable Shot. She's also hilarious. She's always the one to defeat Selvaria in all my playthroughs, even when I didn't plan to have her take the final shot from the start.
Ted: Mostly because he's hilarious (Hi I'm Ted!), but also has Undodgeable Shot.
*Musaad: Pure offensive scout. Of course, NG+ only. In normal playthroughs, I go with Freesia in the last spot for her high base evasion.
Shocktroopers:
Rosie
Lynn: I can't count how many times Hard Worker has saved my ass.
Vyse: Dude is a monster. Vyse + Ruhm = euphoria.
Jane: "Die! Die! Die!"
Hannes: Rambo.
Alex: Ultimate damage, though he often only joins late game when he gets Ultimate Damage (his other potentials are kind of useless).
Lancers:
Largo
Audrey: The bane of all tanks. She turns insane missions like Jann's Challenge into child's play. Took out 9 tanks in one phase.
Jann: His low accuracy frustrates me a bit early game, but he's hilarious, and he's also a mamber of the Ultimate Anti-Armor master race.
Elysse: The third of the Ultimate Anti-armor trio. I usually equip her with the mortar lance.
Engineers:
Nadine: No horrendous potential, plus Double Action. Pleasant to have around, especially since I usually deploy Wavy and Lynn as well.
Dallas: She also has Double Action, but I use her mainly because she's hilarious.
Snipers:
Marina: Of course.
Emile: Use him in the few grassland maps that's a bit too rough for poor Marina's allergies. With Accuracy Boost he can do a decent facsimile of Marina.
I once used Susie in the Edy Detachment mission, and her pacifism actually cost me the battle. I never looked at her since.
Ramsey isn't that bad in my experience, as long as you focus on her tank-repairing, mine-sweeping and obstacle-fragging abilities.
