Help me to decide if I should play VC3
After playing the masterpiece that was VC1, I quickly went into VC2. I didn't mind it was a downgraded sequel on a handheld, I didn't mind the graphics either, I could live with the area split system due to the PSP limitations.
VC2 was overall a very funny game too, but I felt like it has weak points and some things that I disliked in comparisson to VC1:

-The story is rather poor and completely forgettable
-Although I liked the evolved class system, grinding for credits and diplomas that the game gives random for each character was sort of awful.
-The missions get repetitive, too much missions that are the same, and maps constantly repeat.
-Max level 50 Seriously? I think max level 20 from VC1 was fine, 50 is just too much, I beaten the main story with all my classes at level 36, now levelling up is too slow and grinding to level 50 just to beat lvl 70+ missions and unlock VC1 characters is completely boring that I decided to leave the game with my classes at level 40 because grinding 10 more levels isn't even fun at all.

Now, my questions are about VC3, do these things I disliked from VC2 get somehow fixed in VC3 or do they get even worse? I read that they removed the credits and simplified the class system again for good, that the story is kinda better, but I just wanted to hear your thoughts and recommendations about VC3 to decide if I go get it or I should completely skip that game:

-Do missions get better or they're just as much repetitive as in VC2?
-What's the max level? (I don't want excesive grinding)
-THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: Has the fan translation been completed or some texts are still in Japanese? (I went to the translation website but they don't specify any %)

Sorry for the long post and for my English, hope you guys can help me to decide wheter I should play VC3 or not.

Thanks in advance!

Wait for E3 and see if VC3 HD is announced then or something. The fan translation of VC3 is incomplete, has a number of text related bugs, and most of all, has been operating on radio silence ever since release with last word being "Just a few things to patch up."

I helped with the English patch, minus some errors it's got all story/character mission/ DLCs translated except for Carissa's Maxim other than that everything related to the story is translated

I played through it using the translation patch, yes you should play it.

It's much better than VC 2, though it does get a little repetitive towards the end with you just clearing missions you'll swear you've already done just to advance the plot (it's really, really long. Probably too long) but it is a great game and the translation team have already done an amazing job translating all the essential (and most of the non-essential) text.

Thanks for the answers up to this point. What about the max class level then? Does it require a lot of tiresome grinding like VC2 or levelling up is more friendly like in VC1?

No, in my playthrough I never had to grind. Though I think there were one or two chapters where I stopped and did the character missions for a bit to make some extra cash for equipment (equipment plays a much larger role in 3). I can't remember what the max level is though, it honestly didn't really factor in that much during my playthrough.

I dont find it necessary to grind all the way to lv50 to beat the main story, when i finished VC2 campaign the highest class i had was lv31 scout. lv50 is only end-game content so you dont need to worry about it too much. As for VC3, instead of leveling each class you get to level up health, accuracy, evasion, anti-armor/infantry, ailment reisist and defense, and they all apply to all classes.
Overall VC3 is very well refined when compared to VC2. Story, settings and characters are also much better. Gameplay is also rebalanced and in a better way, though repetitive missions do make a comeback
