The gatling gun at the bottom of the stairs can't actually fire (atleast not with interception fire) at your guys if you stay on the stairs, and is pretty easy to eliminate with a scout dishing out some headshots from the top. Then take another one further along the walls and kill the shocktrooper from up high as well.
The lancer is something of a concern, but I couldn't quite gather the CP to actually kill him in the first turn while still making decent progress on other tasks at the same time. Personally, I suggest you don't capture the camp he and the gatling are guarding before the second turn anyway, why not let the Gallians waste some CP calling in reinforcements that will never arrive as you capture it after they're called but before they arrive?
I simply ignored the left (west) side of the map completely and concentrated everything on the right side with the camp at the bottom of the stairs. Once that was taken, send your engineer and another unit as desired down into the trenches to grenade their way through the barricades and get to Selvaria. Once she's active again, it's a mop-up operation. Just watch out for the shocktrooper hidden halfway through those trenches, feed him a grenade to be safe as well followed by a few rifle rounds (You do NOT want to get counter-attacked by a shocktroop in a trench, especially considering the Gallian troops tend to have an advantage over your imps.)
Yea i did blow up damons tank in mission 1 didn't know it unlocked a seperate mission "silenceing arty", might go back & see the other mission... routing gallian forces?.
& teemi06 followed ure advice with slight alterations but worked! tyvm!, i focused on the left base after useing lancer top of wall to take out tank infront of my main camp, snipers cleared enemy snipers & shocktrooper in tower, sat red lancer on stairs & 1 shotted the gattleing gun, ran the engineer down & past the left wall, healed wounds & came back around corner going to flag lobbed nade behind lancer which blew him out of cover & away from flag capped it & ended turn & 1 ap left for sniper to drop the lancer from behind now he was out of cover.
next turn ran engineer into left trench, blew up barracades, nade'd the shock trooper out of trench & sniped from wall, then got over to selvaria, who i then used to annialate the arty spotter camps & flank behind & unloaded whole gunbelt into mossad the mole (so satisfying!) (this over 2 turns) then i just had to run Selvaria down to enemy main camp killin everything on the way
& a supprise bonus ya unlock her Ruhm machine gun in main game FTW! "Sadistic Jane" is now unstoppable! Mwahahahahaha! - Any mission i play now u just hear: "Heh-heh, Scream for me" > *machine gun fire* > *screams* > *silence* > & repeat lol.
Anyway lol, thanks again! Much appriciated!
Ps: They have awsome story lines they should make game/campaigns for imperial & federation factions too. my sis said in vc2 the federation drives the imps back considerably to the south of gallia. But that game focuses more on internal rebellion due to gallian hatred of darcsans anyone who's finished campagin will know why the nobles rebel against the principality on this matter *spoilers*.
