or at least it did in console. i didn't play those DLC in pc yet.
1 slot to your game progress
1 slot for command mode (or maybe two) - overwrite them when you go to another mission.
1 slot for the dlcs (or maybe two if you want to save both of them)
But yeah, I strongly advise against having only one save, in ANY game. Losing an entire campaign because of a corrupt/lost save file is something that happened to me a few decades ago. Then I learnt the mantra "save often, and on alternating slots". Still a painful experience when it hits you. Especially when you're on chapter 13... Ouch.
I know modern gamers are too used to auto-save and checkpoint features and they often fall for this, but VC plays different, and it has its reasons to do so.
This, do this and save yourself a lot of troubles.
Yeah I think the limit is around 8 to 10, where most games made for PC have unlimited saves because HD space is not a factor where as games made for consoles always have limited saves because of space to be able to store the save games.
Common workaround, and highly useful.
That said, the big issue is that this game does nto hold hands with an autosave feature. So remember that.
