Shamrock is pretty useless
I was pretty excited to have another tank, but DEAR LORD is it weak.

To be completely honest, if it's going to be this weak, it should only cost 1 command point to control. Seriously.

Its mortar can't kill a Scout Elite with a direct hit to the face. Like wtf.

Anti-Tank cannon does only 300 damage.

And, mind you, these stats are after the first upgrades you get after you get the tank.

Maybe I need to play longer and get more upgrades? I don't know, but it doesn't make sense to me to make the tank so weak this late into the game. At least make its upgrades match up to the Edelweiss's, or give it more upgrades so you can actually make it as strong as the Edelweiss when you first get it if you have the money.

You can equip it with either paired gatlings or a flamethrower instead of a lackluster version of Edelweiss's turret.
I'm still no fan and rarely, if ever, use it. But then again, neither do I use Edelweiss beyond absolute necessity (mostly mortar 2+ threats and put up smokescreens). Infantry is much more capable most of the time.

your problem is your trying to use the Shamrock like the Edelweiss..

they are both tanks, but they handle very differently..

I have never put the cannon turret on the Shamrock.. equip it with the machine gun turret, and it can hold most camps single handedly (unless a lancer attacks anyways)..

or equip it with the flamethrower turret, and it becomes the single best crowd control unit there is, if you can get close enough to use it it can take out dozen in a single shot

The gatling is worth it. Can kill most troops even through cover at some range, and a short-range salvo to the radiator kills most tanks. Sometimes it's also useful as advancing cover, and it has a bit more AP than Edel. But yeah, the tanks feel situationally useful when they should be the core of your force. You don't even get to use them in the most challenging battles. Doesn't help that the controls are bad on the PC version so you end up wasting some AP making adjustments to stop the wobbling.

The flamethrower is the only real use it has for me. Other then that it's just a cp.

I have only had to use the Shamrock once, and that one use required the Cannon, as the gatling was unable to damage the Tank I was using it to destroy, and I didn't think a Lancer would have been able to cover so much distance as easily... probly could have.

Shamrock is +1 to your CP, and a possible meatshield for Edelweiss.

The Flamethrower is perhaps the best tool to give the Shamwow in your reguar campaign. It's powerful and can kill crouched enemies, turrets, and whatnot.

In Busards's "Gallian Crossfire" mod, the Shamwow's "gatling" guns gain interception fire capabilites, making her more useful for taking infantry--but she's much weaker against anti-tank fire.
