I can tell you for a fact that learning to play this game is easier than learning to mod this game to try and do what you're asking for. And yes, you'll have to do it yourself, there's no ready-and-waiting solution lying around. I can only point you to where you can get started.
No you can't. Well, technically you can push your units around with Edelweiss, but that's about it.
Go to your "\Steam\SteamApps\common\Valkyria Chronicles\movie" directory and rename OPENING.SFD and SEGALOGO.SFD into something else, you will skip straight to main menu.
Really ends up being on you then how you trivialise the game at that point. (that said, I freely admitt when i waste my entire tank AP fishtailing on the spot, I will happily restore my AP to ..fishtail some bloody more =P )
Cheat Engine[github.com]
scripts[forum.cheatengine.org]
Another script[forum.cheatengine.org]
2. Navigate to your Steam installation folder. Default C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam
3. Navigate to steamapps\common\Valkyria Chronicles\movie
4. Rename or delete OPENING.SFD and SEGALOGO.SFD (if you don't see file extensions, enable it in the View tab of File Explorer.)
- Make sure (can't recall if this had or not) any stuff bundled with it is NOT chosen
Download the CT scripts to somewhere like E:\My Documents\My Cheat Tables (believe created on install)
Then after loading the game, run the CheatEngine (32 or 64 bit as per your system)
- 'Open Process' and select the Valkyrie.exe process [First little icon]
- 'Load Table' and select the appropriate CT tables [second icon, one at a time]
Edit the values you want to what you want, or put an 'X' in Active to lock the value. Of course that can be amusing as you lock your hp, don't turn it off, and now everyone is locked to that HP as they have their turn, including opponents. And then everything crashes.
Sure this might be old, though out of respect for my fellow steam users, id like to give a small warning. Though before i do, Id like to state. I did use the "Cheat Engine" and it works great. Memory editing is quit the skill to have. I felt sorta smart when i did it. BUT.....
Having this "Cheat Engine" installed on ur PC even if it is NOT running, and if you activate a V.A.C. game (Mutiplayer) then within a month or 2 your steam account can and most likly will be banned. I share this because I belive their are good people whom dont deserve to loose their account just because they might have been experimenting.
Thankfully a friend told me about this before I turned on or pressed the play button on any VAC multiplayer games. Even though I was using on a single player game. Remember Just having installed can get ur steam VAC banned. It wont happen right away, please read the VAC forum. Thus I have not even had the progam installed for more then maybe a day. If one is ever to use something that edits memory such as "Cheat Engine" then be sure to use it on single player games only, and on a device that does not have steam account.
Sincerely, respectfully, regards.
Or, if you don't want Malware. Here's a Trainer.

The game isn't difficult, just poorly designed. Too many missions where they change the mechanics then ambandon it/just put a bunch of foes and say "Good luck."
So what were you expecting, a game filled with generic missions that play all exactly the same? Thankfully there's a decent variety of mission conditions and objectives. The game doesn't abandon any mechanic, everything you learn and every gear you acquire through the game is still useful at some points.
What are you even talking about? Nowhere did I say any of that. I'm saying that the missions change too much at once, never proper introducing something. In good game design, you introduce a mechanic in small before making a whole mission based around it. VC1 on the other hand throws you into a mission with completely unintroduced and unpresidented mechanics/ideas and simply says "Good Luck."
When do you have a Cripled Scouts or Forced Stelth anywhere else besides the forest sneaking mission? Elevators/Multible paths like in the mines? You should get the point now.
Stealth play isn't exclusive to Escape from forest snare. You actually need to learn some stealth tactics if you want to effectively take out enemies such as: Selvaria, certain Aces with high evade ratio, or even those Shocktroopers crouching/hidding in grass with debuff SMGs that will lower your attack on sight so you can't kill them in one action. And you also need some stealth play for some of the Hard/Expert skirmishes.
As for elevators and alternative paths, you have them in Fouzen (infiltration), Fouzen (liberation) and inside Ghirlandaio fortress, where you need to get a character to activate the switches so tanks and low mobility units can move to the upper floor.
Now of course learning how to defeat the Batomys won't teach you how to defeat other tanks in the game, because unique enemies and situations are unique. But gameplay mechanics aren't single-use.
