Does anyone know if Skies of Arcadia is headed for a Windows PC release?
I was reading Skies of Arcadia's Wikipedia page and I noticed that it made mention of a Windows version, in development while the GC version was released. Apparently it (and a PS2 version) were cancelled, though.

But now, seeing how well JRPGs are doing on PC, does anyone know if there are any plans to bring that to PC? Especially since there's been another DreamCast JRPG (Grandia II) that's come to PC, though that's a different dev and publisher. I posted this thread here though since Sega is apparently the publisher for Arcadia, as with ValChron (though unlike ValChron, the dev isn't Sega but is Overworks).

Edit: When I first made this thread Steam was apparently hiccupping and didn't find any search results for "arcadia", but now it shows a bunch. Sorry about that.

While I would love nothing more then a SoA Windows port I find it highly unlikely to happen.

Unlikely. Its a shame too. Japan has a habit of really underutilizing their developers.

I mean the best Dreamcast game (Skies of Arcadia) was made by Overworks which until then and even a little after was basically just Sega's ♥♥♥♥♥ making fishing games before they giutted them and left the company to die.

Likewise Nintendo neglects Camelot games which gave use the best GBA games with Golden Sun and other greats like Shining Force but is basically just Nintendo's ♥♥♥♥♥ making Mario Tennis and golf games for the rest of eternity.

And I wont even mention how Konami abuses its developers.

Its messed up how toxic, backwards and downright dumb Japan's developer community is nowadays.

For a port they could basically take a Dreamcast emulator, clean it up a bit, and release it, and I'd buy it (Add a random encounter frequency slider maybe). Same as how old DOS games ship with DosBox on Steam.

Also, SEGA, seriously, do this, it will sell.

Honestly just take the gamecube build, swap in the HQ dreamcast music, and release to steam after confuguring it. I NEED SKIES BACK IN MY LIFE

Just run an actual emulator or get an an actual dreamcast. Cost me like 10 bucks and Dkies cost me 5 at my neighborhood "old crap seller" as I call him.
