Cruiser research bug

I think I stumbled upon a bug and I can't find a solution anywhere. In e3m1 and e3m3+ I don't have the option to research cruisers for some reason. Anyone know of a solution? :(

Did you run out of research points by spending them on other researches? If so the only thing I can say is restart the mission and research cruisers right away. I don't recall any restrictions on researching cruisers in those missions.

Ah, nevermind. I eventually got them. Just got confused when I read a guide and watched lets play in which they got cruisers a lot sooner.

I'm on e3m3 and i also read about cruisers that should be available in the e3m1 or e3m3 and thought i have a cruiser bug ;)

Just curious - on which mission did you eventually get them ?

e3m3 :) after some time you'll get a message saying that you can now research new ship type.

There is a bug with the solution. The font size increases to much and the research list cant be fully displayed. To see the complete list you have to set the smallest sollution 800x

I did get message (e3m3) about new ship type but it didn't show in tech tree (i got resollution set as advice) :/ also i can't research spy ship (in wich e?m? is this possible?)

It´s true. I´m on e3m4, and although I change resollution as adviced, nor the cruiser or the spy ship appears. Neither the advanced techs above level3. I´ve played the box game years ago and I don´t have this problem.

Same problem on Win10. Works fine only in 800x600 res. Have to restart game after reslolution change.

You can get the Cruiser early only if you started your playthrough as Mars (and I think you also need to fulfill an optional goal in an earlier mission).
As Jack Garner, you'll have to wait a bit longer to get them.

Hey guys, although I come with no solution, I stumbled upon this problem as well. I got to the message where you get cruisers to your disposal but unfortunately i realised that the window is too small for the options to be displayed. I switched to the smallest resolution and although there are options selectable they are invisible. Is there any sensible way to fix that or should I just accept playing like that? (Not seeing one third of the research in the game).

You can get cruisers for free. Just wait for that mission where you given proton military base from the start to defend from kariaks. Send spies to harvest technologies and they will take it for free, without a need to research it. I don't really know what does this depend on, may be the spies levels, but sometimes they get upgrades for free, with bare hands.

For solving the issue of the construction of cruiser or spy ship, you must :
- change resolution to 800x600
- save the mission
- restart the game and load the mission
And you will see all tech tree ! The change of the resolution is not enough without the restart of the game.
