Another thing that helps is to create a "safe" room for your animals during raids/psychic waves. The safe room doesn't necessarily have to have food in it. It doesn't necessarily have to be a room
specifically for animals either (a rec room will work just fine). A safe room helps to keep your farm animals from getting injured during raids and insures they don't get hit by friendly fire.

Same world - different biomes. So, in total, I manage about 45 pawns and nearly 300 animals. LOL!

Easy, put animal sleeping spots somewhere convenient so that all the chicken go to sleep at night. Have your butcher do a nightshift.

@cannenses The main pack animal option in the jungle biome is elephants. I used them almost exclusively.

I think Manhunter pulses only anger them if they have animals that would get affected by it.

For attack animals to be truly effective they should be used in large numbers if possible. Only 1 or 2 will simply get in the way and get themselves shot up.

But they are great as escorts for animal
taming, if your colonist is way outside your perimeter and gets attacked you can usually get them out of the combat lock thanks to the friendly tamed animal being near them on work duty.
