Money is no Matter.
My Budget for this Next Year is aroung 6.000 Euros.
So the only Question on Money Front is wether I am Nuts enough to get a 5090.
I am not gonna Skimp on the CPU.
Been doing that for Years xD
Threadripper is unfortunately a Pointless Choice for this.
Most Games at best Utilize 8 Cores.
Some Newer Ones are at about 16 Cores.
While Older Ones will often only use 2-4 Cores.
And many Indy Games like Rimword are even made only really using 1 Core for most Part.
Threadripper as its Performance comes from the Insane amount of Cores rather than the actual Processing Power of the Cores used. Actually will do worse for Games.
And for Games like Rimworld or Stellaris it is actually Horrible.
It will actually be Outperformed even by the 7800x3d.
So Hard Pass on that.
If You want to think that. Thats fine. But the Truth is Different.
In case You dont understand this.
The 9800x3d is Weaker than the 9950x in terms of Processing Power.
However. Thanks to a Gimmick with its Cache. It actually Vastly Outperforms most other CPUs for Games.
Now the Question for me is.
Will Rimworld Play better with the Gimmick of the 9800x3d or will it Play better with the Raw Processing Power of the 9950x
This is a Serious Question Mate.
You may think I want to Brag. But I really dont.
If I was so Rich that this wasnt a Relevant Decision for me. I would not Ask here.
I would just get a few Computers to Test it myself.
But alas I am not. 6000 Euro is the Biggest Budget I ever had available for a Gaming PC. Around Double what I got to Spend 2 Years ago and its more than 6 times what I could spend for the PC I got 6 Years ago.
So I am trying to get the Best I can for it.
