How to do a complete, clean uninstall

I've got a buggy install, have had for some time. Like, when I get a "Take care of this group that's raiding my caravan" quest, the location is my colony. That one I just ignore. There's others. I've done so many removal of mods and put them back in one-by-one that I can almost do it in my sleep. So I'd like to completely uninstall and reinstall.

I don't want anything leftover before I reinstall.

Does a basic uninstall do this? I doubt it. Dang files hide everywhere it seems.

It's your mods.
If you want to repair your (most likely perfectly fine) game files, you can verify integrity with Steam.
If you still think removing all files related to the game would help, you can uninstall with Steam, manually delete the Rimworld folder and everything in it in whichever Steam library folder you installed it to, and delete "%localappdata%Low\Ludeon Studios" and everything in it (this includes your saves, so copy those out if you care).

I just did another file verification. I do this once a month or so.

The "raid these raiders for us" thing happens with no mods installed. So do some other problems.

I copied your suggestions of where the files are.

Wait, the "take care of this group that's raiding my caravan" quest is supposed to target your colony. It's not "raid these raiders," it's "signal these raiders so they attack you instead."

How would I signal them?? This is the "click here to see their location" thing. I don't have any of the DLC.

You don't have to do anything other than accept the quest, it's automatic, you accept the quest and the raid attacks your colony in the listed amount of time. That's how the quest is supposed to work.

I have never seen this type before. It has always been "go here and get rid of them" which is what these are. None of them have been wait for them to come.

But I'll wait and see what it says the next time. It's been happening forever now. Year? Two?

But like I have said, if this were the only issue, it would be a different story.

Just got the one I think you're talking about, the outpost raiding one. Yeah, it doesn't generate the camp until you actually accept the quest, so before then it only shows your colony. Useful if you have multiple, I guess.
