Worker Lending quests

How do addictions work with worker lending quests? It's 24 days and needs most of my colonists and one of the ones I want to send has been addicted to luciferium for awhile now to cure all her old age conditions. Is she going to die if I send her out there? Will the timer pause while off map? Do I need her to be carrying some when she leaves? Don't want her to die.

Actually, I think I've tried this. Lol they will die if you send them out unprepared.

I've never tried, those quests are honestly pretty awful usually and I just ignore them. I know they can die for various reasons while on the quest, even randomly just as a mechanic of the quest. They are also unloaded though so I don't know if luciferium need is actually ticking during the quest. Even if you gave her some to take with her I don't know if she'd be able to use it.
