Quick question about system requirements
I've been hearing great stuff about the game for ages and after watching some videos it really seems like the kind of thing I could get into. However I'm 99 percent certain my ancient poopy laptop isn't up to the task. Can never figure out what the system requirements actually mean since they aren't directly comparable (boils down to stuff like "must have at least a glibglorb 3000 when I only have a zibzot alpha, for all intents and purposes). But hey on the off chance I'm lucky doesn't hurt to ask right? Sucks not being able to afford something modern, sigh... Although perhaps that Steam deck thing, hmm.

Oh yeah probably helps if I actually say what I'm using. Apparently my processor is a

AMD A8-7410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics 2.20 GHz

Whatever those words mean. Many thanks for any assistance.

I'm running this game on a 11 year old notebook without too many issues. So I think you should be fine as long as you don't go crazy with mods. Base game and dlc is very well optimized.

Intel Pentium 3556U @ 1.70GHz
4GB Ram
Integrated graphic of some kind

I do get massive frame drops on the world map for some reason, but the rest of the game runs pretty fluid. Massive endgame raids might also cause a problem, but I'm usually already dead by then. So it's fine.. All in all the game performs really well even on outdated hardware.

I ran this on an Athlon X2 5000+, and that processor is old enough that it doesn't want to play Fortnite not because it's incapable but because it thinks that game is for kids. As far as GPU, almost anything goes. RImWorld doesn't use need much out of it at all. Integrated graphics should be fine.

Granted, you may suffer slowdowns at times. I'd probably lean toward smaller colonies instead of huge 30+ pawn towns with an older rig, and keeping mods sensible.

Interesting, that's a MUCH better response than I was anticipating... Well it is the season for stuff to go on sale, heh. Many thanks!
