Royal Bedroom Needs
I think there's a bug where a owned crib is invalidating bedrooms for married colonists. The noble, even sleeping in the room doesn't recognize their bedroom as being personal, or royal, until the crib is moved. Has anyone else experienced this?

AFAIK that is working as intended. Nobles don't want to share a room with a crying baby.

lol! even their own baby? That sounds like a resurgence of the conceited mechanic.

That thing is for the nanny to deal with. Get back to us (the royal us, not multiple us) when it's old enough to be looked down upon and passed over for a royal title.

I bet if I threw it in a vat, then she'd be upset she couldn't spend time with her baby any longer.

Well, that DOES rather correspond with real life. Most royals had very little to do with their children until they were at least able to walk. They *certainly* wouldn't be raising them themselves.

To be fair, I don't know anyone IRL who kept their child's crib in their bedroom. Everyone has a nursery, these days with baby monitors. Even before things like baby monitors, like way back in the before times when I was born, I was in a nursery, my parent's just used their ears. Generally if a crib is in a bedroom it's probably because there's no other space in the house/apartment, I'm sure some people have to deal with that, but I'm also sure they would happily put the baby in an adjacent room if they could.

Tbf, I'm just a random dude and I wouldn't want to share a room with my crying baby either.

Housing and economic despair combine to mean this is no longer true for a lot of people, especially people who cannot afford housing with an entire room that is used for nothing but to let an infant sleep in alone.

To be fair, for the majority of people who live in high cost-of-living areas or who have experienced any level of poverty (~%50 of people), it has never really been economically viable to have an entire room for an infant to sleep in. Not since the early 90s, anyway.

But I do think it especially makes sense that a royal would expect to have privacy in their room, and possibly even a nursery.

I usually also dedicate one colonist to breastfeed all the children in the colony (a sort of wet nurse), just so there are not a lot of people dedicated to childcare full time. I dont think royals would be into it.

The state of modern motherhood being the sad state it is has nothing to do with the notification saying the royal has no bedroom. Nevertheless, I appreciate the insight.

Thanks anyway.

And that's why I felt it would be better settled by the conceit mechanic. Royals typically don't do much commoner work at all, but that was adjusted to only be for those with bad character traits.
