Can a mod change how expectations are handled?
I know that there are countless posts about supreme expectations and how that cannot be fixed or satisfied, and need to be compensated with other mood bonuses. I am asking if a mod can potentially alter that. I know that there are already many mods that allow you to disable such expectations or change the wealth threshold/mood change for it. But what I want is to properly gamify the mechanic:
I would like the leader, moral guide, royals, etc having high expectations of, say, personal impressive bedrooms instead of barracks, excellent or better clothing, fine meals, etc, and as long as those are satisfied, they won't have those negative modifiers. The negatives would probably trigger if they are away from such luxuries for 12 or more hours (while in a caravan, fighting, etc.) It can be similar for slaves expecting basic shelter, food, and medical treatment, providing which will make them happy enough .
Basically, I want there to be player agency so that you can try to provide certain colonists better facilities instead of just accepting that they are conceited and over-entitled asses.
I could not find any mod that allows such a level of modification of the base game mechanics; if there is one, please let me know. Otherwise, can anyone knowledgeable enough tell me if it is possible to implement through a mod at all?
Thanks in advance.

So, nothing at all? And here I thought that RimWorld was one of the most mod friendly games... :steamsad:

Everything you are asking for is possible. I just don't think anyone has made a mod that does it because no one who mods wanted it to function that way.

Time to start learning to mod.

You probably want to make a Harmony patch for the ThoughtWorker_Expectations class. Add a bunch of conditions and return states.

Thanks for the answers. It is good to know that what I wanted is technically possible, although it is a shame that none of the mods address that and just either disable those moods or changes the amount of mood gain/loss. I don't think I am qualified to create mods, although if something close were available I might not have minded tinkering a bit.
