Blood and Dirt - How Many Years...?
...does it take to code these to disappear, unattended, when in the outdoors? Look, I know rain can wash it all away, but there are certain maps where there is NO rain. And no, a desert won't remain bloody for years. C'mon now.

And no, I won't dev/mod it away. This really should be a basic feature and we've had three DLC so far.

All types of filth do disappear in under a year.

I can't be sure about dirt, but blood most certainly does not.

If you keep walking through it, it'll keep getting tracked to new tiles, which then get their own timers.

Nope. Still 100% nope. Are you joking with me? I've had lions die in the corner of the maps from trying to kill each other, and their carcasses, and blood, are still around 2 years later.

Please stop spreading false information.

You can check the defs. Blood disappears in 35~40 days.

It does not.

One or more of your mods may be affecting it.

Doesn't seem to be the case for Trash and Rubble, when I was first starting to play the game and going for a long term save Rubble and Trash wouldn't dissapear for 3 years straight, even if the tile it was on wasn't updated.

I definitely don't want to devolve the thread into an argument but I'm pretty sure that there is a check every year. The game go thru that check and anything old enough simply vanish. Since this usually happen around new year (your map time) any normal map is going to be covered in snow and you won't actually see a glaring difference.

That's the experience I got about it, playing Rimworld for years now, anyways.

lay down a floor over it?

Home zone it and clean it then if it bothers you that much. Literally a non-issue.

i mean blood conjeals and soaks into the ground and then decomposses as insects and microbs eat it so it would disapear in a wild enviorment, as well as in home zone pawns set to cleaning can just clean it up whenever there not doing stuff.
