Anomaly is challenging
I'm not that good, but getting attacked on 3 sides by zombies that seem to have high hitpoints in early game is kind of annoying. I'd much rather face a normal raid than any of these monsters. Maybe I should have activated the rune with a foothold colony, but it's still tough. The AI seems to be better, changing approach tactics. They kill animals in the pen. I get that a lot of people are probably ready for a challenge, but this was unexpected. An entire new research tab. It's a lot to learn.

Anomaly threat scaling seems to be more forgiving than normal threat scaling. The issue is mostly that there are a variety of threats, so a weaker force is able to cause a lot more problems. Like a droppod raid has a fraction of the attackers, but they're generally able to do more damage to your colony than a standard raid that's 10x larger.

Adapting your combat methods to handle new threats is critical or advanced threats will just destroy you though.

Either way, have fun with it. Worst case scenario you get overrun by some zombies and have to bring in new colonists to populate your current colony.
