Feeding Ghoul
Is there anyway to make it so it automatically eats? Am i missing something? So far i am having to manually order it to eat, got down to about 11% i want to say.

I created a zone, assigned Ghoul to said zone... and put a RimFridge with the weird meat in zone as well. Seems to work.

Bet it still gets pissed off if it doesn't have a table to eat at.

LOL. Well, so far no. Ghouls are surprisingly low maintenance, at least for the few days (game time) that I've had one. They're essentially a trained animal, that you can draft/micro like a normal pawn. It mostly just stands there. I figgered I'd have to keep it in a locked room or something...

I'm still wondering why they give you the 'security gate' tech at the start tho... but I guess I'll find out eventually.

Eh I wouldn't honestly know myself. I've not launched the game yet since 1.5/anomaly launched as I'm waiting for hospitality to update.

Mine eats automatically just fine. Perhaps you just aren't letting the bar drop quite far enough?

I would like to see it hunt for it's food by itself... Else I often forget about it until it dies of hunger.

You're missing the part where ghouls already automatically eat. If they don't, you don't have food. Install a nuclear stomach if you can't handle the meat consomption

they eat only meat or corpse. If you cook all your food you rarely have meat standing for them. You need to constantly hunt to have meat and corpse around or micromanage the ghoul to attack animal by itself non stop

That would've been true in 1.4, but I have way more anomaly meat sitting in my freezer doing nothing than I have regular meat. Just keep monster meat for the ghouls and you're fine. If not, learn how to make bills. Cook enough meals to feed your colony without "do forever". If you don't produce enough meat, produce more. Switch to vegetarian meals for your colonists if needed.

Hunting isn't really the best way to get meat, too much micromanagement, killing humans or raising animals is generally better

Do they eat meat only meals ? Do they eat rotting corpses ?

Either way, they do feed automatically and nuclear stomach fixes 75% of the issue

I guess difficulty plays a factor too. The lower the difficulty, the less meat you get since good sources of it tend to be hostile. All the more reason to ranch

It drastical increases containment power if you build the door leading to your containment platforms.

how ever it's terrible for regular prisons as it counts as 2 doors for some reason
Hykal Apr 18, 2024 @ 6:30pm
Well you just use regular doors for human prisoners then. Entities will break down their doors, human prisoners seem to pick the lock or whatever.

Kill animals, chop up the corpses and it'll automatically eat out of the freezer.
Or just control it to kill a bunch of animals to feed itself, i treat controlling the ghoul as something to do in the downtimes.

A lot of things in the game are easier if you don't immediately process all your raw food, this would be one of them
