Unless you have Prepare Carefully which absolutely does and will bork your saves.
I did, the game crashed and burned so catastrophically it took Steam, the desktop and the RGB driver with it.

Yeah bro, the specs don't matter. Max game speed and they move like it's normal speed..
I am not running Anomaly though.
I mean in the start it runs fine for me too. Few ingame years later it goes to hell.
Have you tried a clean reinstall of rimworld?
Software can; with enough updates, become a bit polluted with remnants/leftovers from when the game was updated to newer version which, in turn, can lower the performance of the software itself....every so often it can help performance by just doing a reinstall of that software (or in this case, the game)...
If you're not running any mods. Maybe this could help you. A mod that should improve performance. Not sure how helpful it will be, but worth a shot.
