The DLC is too cheap, developers are losing money
Indie games have a tradition where they sell their products for too low a cost. Terraria for instance would have been just as successful if it were a $60 USD game, but the developer would have more funds to improve the game.

The price of RimWorld should be on par with a $70 USD AAA title, as the game offers a lot more content than any AAAA title and the quality of the game is immeasurably higher. Not forgetting the DEI money hasn't corrupted indies yet, so I can generate sexy pawns.

RimWorld's newest DLC offers more content than any AAA or AAAA game so far, so why shouldn't it be priced higher? A game can price its DLC higher than the base game, especially when the base game is far too cheap of a price.

Nobody's holding you at gunpoint and forcing you to buy it.

Mods didn't help you fix your grammar. Sometimes mods aren't sufficient, you need integrated features for it to go well.

This is a niche game. It is relatively unknown compared to mainstream AAA game. Also, the retail price doesn't reflex the profits. While AAA games are more expensive they also have more cost in production.

Rimworld is VERY known, I see references to it everywhere. Almost every genre of game is niche, it's just that some of those niches have a larger audience, like battle royals or first person online shooters.

Devs are basically putting themselves out of business.

With that attitude, developers should never release mod support

i mean when the modders do better it just means the devs need to either hire them or actually make content that is better than mods

Well a lot of devs in other games like rimworld doesn`t have mod support. You know what? They aren`t as popular as rimworld bc this is one of the most wanted feature in communities. And tbh if i see a game which settles in gamedesign near Rimworld without mod-support - it`s also a big no no for me.

So why complain if you can just get the stuff in the modding community anyways?

Literally nobody is forcing you to buy the DLC, kick rocks.

That'd break the trend. We got 25 (Monopoly money) bonkers for the first, 25 again, 30, another 30, and now what? A 40? No, that'd be too sudden.

You've got to lure the DLC buyers into a habit, and incrementally increase the price with each one.
