DLC is way too expensive.
I realize I am going to be called a number of names and told I should kill myself for saying this but it really, really needs to be said.

More people would buy the DLC instead of pirating it if they weren't nearly as expensive as the main game. It's just not economical to do this. It's annoying and anti-consumer.

And you realize you can have it both ways with sales, yes? You can still make money off of impatient/loyal followers by charging as much as you want for the DLC when it releases then put it on sale afterwards. Like, an actual sale, not just a pity 10%. You could make your DLC $50 then put it on sale for 50% and people would snatch it up thinking "wowie, what a deal!"

All that being said, I'm sure you are making enough money and handling your finances very well. Could you maybe make the DLC more accessible for people who don't want to invest a lot of money in something? There's no reason not to other than greed or perhaps just outright hatred of people who enjoy your product.

I've been waiting many years for a half decent sale on the DLC to buy it.

If anyone tells you to off yourself you should not do that and you should report them.

That being said - I disagree with your point.

First off, yes i agree that the dlcs are expensive but they are making more money making it that way that they would selling more for cheaper. I dont suggest waiting as the sales are a mediocre 10%. Best you can do is buy from retail sites and save taxes but its up to you. And i dont think your supposed to buy the game and all the dlc all at once. Play the normal game without any dlc and then buy 1 or 2 and then another.. You can easily sink a lot of hours just playing the main game.

I agree, it is way too expensive, but it is worth the price.

Anything can be too expensive, but that doesn't change its worth as a DLC. Everything in modern society is too expensive. Thank the government, thank taxation, and thank society.

If the majority of people aren't willing to pony up to get the DLC then it's too expensive.

It's impossible to gauge how many people are like me, just waiting for a 50% sale or better, but I IMAGINE it is probably a fair few people. More than enough to justify a sale or price drop, if you ask me.

And I'm sorry but I don't see what's so funny about this..?

I have a counterpoint. It’s an anecdote, so bear with me.

Every month I peruse Humble Bundle and shop the book bundles. On occasion I’ll buy one of the $15 or $18 bundles, thinking that it’s a good deal. But I hardly touch any of the books I buy. Why? It might be because I have subconsciously subscribed “lower price” to “lower value,” lowering my interest in the books. If I paid full price for each book in the bundle, would I be more inclined to read them? I think so.

So if I buy something at a high price, I’m more likely to use or play with it. And the developers might be thinking that they want to keep that price wall high so they only get the enthusiasts.

Counter point... the state of the economy for the last half-decade. Having an income does not necessarily mean you have the luxury of frivolously spending it. Some people simply do not see the thin amount of content added by the DLC as being worth the value of entire games. And they still never put the DLC on sale above a 10% discount.

Right now you can pick up Terraria, Deep Rock Galactic and Vampire Survivors for less than the Anomaly DLC. You can log just as many hours into any one of those as Rimworld.

I think they are starting to get really greedy with this game. And I can't support it anymore.

i wouldn't call it greedy because a very large amount of work clearly was put into the dlc to make it a good experience should probably be lowered to 20 dollars but thats just me

It is absolutely unreasonable to insult fellow steam community members for being low income or to insinuate that they are "poor." There's absolutely no need for that.

Be respectful.

Biotech and Anomaly costs a day's wage for my third world ass. Wait for that mythical 50% sale then.
