RimWorld

Is there a way to bring back prisoners from a site raid?
I never get the option to do so, it says I dont have an available detention site. So I end up just leaving them there to bleed out. I can tend them (sometimes they pop back up and then my team promptly drops them again... awkward...) but not capture them.

Rimworld has got to be one of the weirdest games I've played, in the respect of how after I repel an attack of raiders I instantly go off and start bandaging up the downed foes and seeing who I can bring into the fold.

You gotta imagine those conversations are awkward.
"All right, 'Hawk,' I know you just tried to kill us and all that, but man, you can swing a pickaxe like nobody's business and we need a miner. Wanna join up?"

Usually when you raid a site, there will be a room of some sort already on the map. You can then just place a sleeping spot in that room once you have claimed the doors and set the sleeping spot for prisoners. This will allow you to capture them.

Depending on the type of map, you can also just immediately reform the caravan once you have downed the enemies and claimed all the turrets. You can then bring any downed enemies with you as prisoners in the caravan menu.

There are also mods that allow you to capture prisoners without a room, if you want to go that route.

You just select them in the caravan.
if there is a threat currently on map, you can also grab the person and take them off the map, but they take the animals with them. then from the map you can just have them re-enter the tile you're on.

This shouldn't be a thing, what are you clicking on to get that message? In the "reform caravan" screen it will show all downed enemies on the map and you can just click on them to include them in the caravan and that captures them allowing you to bring them back. You don't need to make any sort of prison room or capture them on the map.
