EMP does not deal physical damage. Instead, EMP grenades stun turrets, mechanoids, and mortars for 50 EMP damage, or 25 seconds. After being stunned, mechanoids become "Adapted" and gain immunity against further stuns for 2,200 ticks (36.67 secs). Immunity is applied on stun, and further EMPs won't extend adaptation. EMP also disables shield belts, causes brain shock on humanoids with brain implants, and vomiting on those with certain stomach implants.
What mods are you using?
psychic insanity lance on centipede. preferably one thats in the back ranks
pop smoke on always, best if in cover
focus fire
mechanator mechs also work great for tanking
for guns want/need mostly assault / charge rifles
i like to build lots of spike traps , that can really help slow down all kinds of raids
I actually find them not to be too much of a threat if you have a team wielding assault rifles and a couple front-liners with blades+shields+flak/recon/marine. I'd much rather fight a mechanoid force than an endgame human force. Mechanoids tend to very regimented in how you fight them; there's exactly one way.
If you are using Combat Extended, stop it. That will fix your problems.
then i got attacked again by mechs - termites and so on. i just reloaded, i'm sick of this cheating ♥♥♥♥. they are way to hard and too many.
What guns are you using?
What does your colony look like? Can you share a screenshot?
Do you have armor on your pawns?
What are your pawns' skills?
Do you use traps or turrets?
What difficulty are you on?
Get walls and doors up, as they turn the corner have an EMP grenade ready to pop. This will stun them for a little while. this is your chance to unload. If your safe to step out from your cover do so. a stunned mechanoid isnt shooting back and you want this alpha strike to hurt.
But...
After the emp stun wears off they will be immune to another stun for a few seconds. So take cover and weather the storm. With luck you delt enough damage to manipulation and sight that there accuracy is horrible now.
Throwing EMP after EMP on the same mechanoid has no ill effect and will not make the stun go away faster or make them immune longer.
If its a cluster your dealing with, the turrets are blind to Smoke, get a smoke launcher and move in the smoke. the turrets will not beable to fire up-on you.
If you have a psycast, powers like skip and becken are great for pulling mechs into emp grenades and getting them out in the open.
this is my first game i dont have extended stuff like "psycast" i dont even know what it is.
I dont have enough armor for all people. Still trying to gather steel and manufacture armors but dont have enough construction parts (translated).
whats a cluster? its this landed ship thing i had to deal with? There was no turrets.
i dstroyed the ship with 3 mortars, consuming all my shells. Then i dstroyed the charging mechs around the corners.
i have 1 sniper rifle, about 4 assault rifles, a few heavy and small MPs, pistols, shotguns and some meele weapons 1 sword 3-5 spears and so on.
I tried to establish turrets and more walls but run out of resources and production capability (at least in time).
Its the alone&naked gamestart, 20 pawns on flat land with casandra classic on adventure (3.) difficulty.
I just learned there are even stronger mechs with dozens of shots in a second. thats just stupid heavy ....
knowing how to deal is one thing, having the resources and time to build the walls is another thing ...
