Why Are there Neanderthals In The Empire?
Can someone explain to me why for some reason the devs decided to add Neanderthals to the empire's possible xenotype list at a 5 percent chance? I know it could be a incest joke about how royals used to inbreed to keep the bloodline "pure" and how Neanderthals are supposed to be stupid in this game but it just doesn't make sense why Neanderthals would be included instead of a more fitting xenotype like highmates as toys or dirtmoles as general miners and resource diggers.

"Pets are people too!" You see everything was good in the empire until one day there was a very disruptive social movement. And after that point it all started to get really, really weird.

why allowed the roman empire germanic, celtic and literally anyone else from conquered countries into their ranks?
for the same reason of course!
and the 5% neanderthals that are in the empire are the 5% that are smart enough to understand the benefits the empire can offer.

also, they certainly were not as dumb as one might think... they jsimply could not keep up with modern human birth rates.

If the empire actively raids or accepts their enemies, then why haven't they let impids or pigskins or other xenotypes into their ranks? impids could move fast even with heavy plate or power armor, pigskins could tank hits better than hussars and could survive nearly anywhere, and wasters could take wakeup and yayo in bulk to become extreme drug addicts that could thrive in toxic places that insects love, and yttekin could carry bulky armor and cargo with their large size. all the other xenotypes seem much better for general purposes than some stupid cavemen that temper easily and could easily get into fights due to their anger and confidence in their melee skills

The dumb labor pawns are used for dumb labor. The % chance you see on the faction description is misleading. 75% of empire "common laborer" pawns are neanderthal, while the combat pawns in the empire are like 40-75% hussar. Genies are mostly seen in the titled pawns, but sanguophage actually make up a higher percent of those. Empire traders have a chance to be highmates, and the empire has a chance to have highmate slaves for sale. Overall they use an appropriate mix of xenotypes and put them in realistic roles.

Pigs are mostly used for cannibalism. Wasters are specifically useful for wrecking planets. Dirtmoles are garbage outside, the empire might use plenty of them just never in a location we see them. Impids and Yttakin do not fit with the empire's theme. Neandthals are perfect fit for empire laborers.
