Its not for every run, but its a fun and unique experience when you do run it.
I personally love the ghouls, disruptor flares, serums, and the rituals. Those don't really become obsolete.
Bioferrite is nice; it's durable, has psychic boosts, is surprisingly good for melee weapons, is really cheap and easy to get, and can be used for fuel and atmospheric manipulation.
A hyperweave ceremonial hood is basically a full faced plasteel flak helmet with better insulation.
I still am keeping it enabled because of how much cool stuff it has to offer, even if some of the systems and events are annoying as all hell like death pall, cube, unnatural darkness, and metalhorror infestations.
I don't understand your point. Isn't that just semantics? "You don't have to own all DLC" is the same as "You don't need to own the full game."
This way players could then choose to interact with these anomalies on their own term, venture out into the world, setup research expeditions and bring back hidden and forbidden knowledge and artifacts in an immersive and interesting way that encouraged exploration, world building and questing in general.
The content just feels hamfisted into the standard rimworld experience imho.
I hate the idea of shamblers / chimeras just randomly appearing on my map for example. But if they had made this a quest to explore an abandoned research facility where the previous civilization did research on using nanites with archotech technology to extend the life of its citizens, it would have been an interesting and fun expedition which has a completely different feel too it than what we currently have.
Just use mods. I feel the same way about vehicles that you do about the DLC.
Trash idea and shouldn't be in the game.
The total cost of the base game and all the dlcs in Australian Dollar is 170.75 with anomaly and Biotech being 80% of the price of the base game. With pricing points like these you cant be surprised when people criticise the game so harshly, its an amazing game with a lot of content but the pricing for it has been absolute abyssmal ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ since it came out of EA. Anomaly is also argued as the weakest of the DLCs on offer but is one of the most expensive ones probably on the fact that they releases later than all the others.
You can check regional pricing on steam sales tracker, Europe and Australia always get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ on pricing ever since steam let devs dictate their own prices.
