RimWorld

Does anyone else with a big modlist get this error?
It's something like "error while generating map". For me it has a chance to happen as soon as I try to start a run, thus ending it immediately. Worst of all it has no option to back out, it'll just give me the option to generate it again, which never once has worked, obviously. So I have to stop the game and wait for it to start again.

I mainly want either a mod that can stop that from happening or a mod I can remove to make it stop happening.

Well there's no mod to make this stop happening, this is happening because of broken or incompatible mods you have installed.

Your only solution is disabling the mods until you find the culprit. Depending on your mod list this can look like a few different things.

If you have a little mod list, disable them all and start again, then add one at a time until you find it and remove it.

If you have a big mod list, disable half and try, if it still does it, disable the other half and re enable the first half. If it works, it was in the one half. At that point disable half at a time until you find it.

In the end this is a learning experience to know that you need to carefully read all mod descriptions including the readme to see requirements and compatibility issues and ensure those are solved. You cant just go installing mods silly nilly because they sound cool without understanding how they're affecting the game and how they'll interact with other mods.

I feel insulted.

Well it's not the intention, it's something I'll tell anyone trying to install mods on any game.

And judging by your recent threads here about issues with mods, this seems to be the core issue to your problems.

You should also avoid installing big mods mid play through as well (like ones that change core game mechanics) and always avoid uninstalling mods mid play through. If you need to uninstall a mod, then you should be starting a new game.

Uninstalling a mod mid play through might seem to be fine for a bit, but then can later break your game and it will be almost impossible to diagnose.

I don't know which mods you use, but I also have a large list and have found these 2 to be the culprits for me. Maybe it will help you.

Well I'll be damned, I have both of those.
Those two alone aren't causing anything, but I might try my full modlist without wastelands another time.
