edit: If it's because "Australians have more spending power" or something, that's actually very incorrect. We're not doing well at all and most of the country is controlled by mining interests that hoard wealth so it looks like we're doing better than we are. We're headed for destruction and they still bring in 500,000 people a year into a country of only 26 million, it's all falling apart from there.

The Australian price hasn't been lower than AUD$36 for over 2 years which is closer to $23 US.
