SO, base game Rimworld tied animal handling in some way to socialization, and the few robots that could animal handle from a few versions ago, would also have mental breaks and go on insulting sprees.

I believe there is at least one modder looking into a work-around, but in the mean time, you might have to look into modding yourself.

In the mean time - I would suggest you look into Project Rimfactory, which has an 'auto-milker' building that you fill with hay, and the animals come and feed from it, and get milked / sheared.

There is also Homebound, which has a building that you can stuff animals and hay into, and milk/wool comes out
