Yeah, that event is kinda bonked.
It is intended for the corpse to vanish and reappear if the colonist somehow leaves the colony (Caravan, captured, sold)
As soon as that Colonist re-appears on the map, and the initial time (15 something days I believe?) runs out, the corpse will reappear, rush at the colonist, and melt their brain in an instant.
Also dont bother killing it, it has 30K Health Regeneration per DAY.
Then to add insult to injury, my ideological leader got an infection right after and died at 99.9 immunity. Fun times for my colony, both leaders dead just days from each other.
