Strange melee bug/feature from which mod?
Started a new game in 1.3 only to find out a bit later that all melee combat has become near lethal. It is hard to explain, but now every time a pawn or animal engages in melee combat, they inflict 5x times more wounds with every attack. Basically resulting in everyone and everything essentially one shotting eachother. I was playing with mods before and everything was fine until I added a few more storytellers and psycasts expanded. Removing them didn't change anything.

It has actually made melee combat alot more fun and more realistic-ish since now my pawns instantly kill hares and other small creatures without receiving injuries, while bigger animals can still fight back and cause a bit of damage. But this has also resulted in social fights becoming completely broken since if a pawn gets downed, the winner will bug out and melee attack (with no cooldown between attacks) them to death.

I'm assuming a mod updated and broke compatibility. Would anyone know what mod could cause this?

I would but its 213 mods long, but nothing from what I can tell would change melee combat except dual wielding and run & gun
I also have issue with melee combat, mech are totally immune to melee damage. I have only bruise
Thought it was from CE update but it's the same issue even if I use a previous version of CE

Well after about 6 hours of testing I narrowed it down to possibly Adeptus Mechanicus and A Rimworld of Magic for my problems, which I can't disable either because my UI disappears ingame and nothing becomes selectable if both mods are turned off. Do you have either mod installed?
That can happen in vanilla too. You get a pawn with high melee and a thrumbo horn, they can dish out serious melee damage.

Yes but in my game, it applies to every animal and pawn, like for example one of my pawns has 0 melee attack and only using fists, inflicted about 4 bruises in 1 melee attack to another pawn. Which like I said is great until a social fight erupts, a pawn with a higher melee attack downs another pawn before the fight ends. And now my pawn is soft locked. If I draft them and move them out of the way, the downed pawn will be instantly shredded apart by 100's of attacks per seconds (which doesn't even kill them) until they bleed to death a few seconds later

It would be cool if the game had a save conversion feature which could analyse a save and salvage as much as possible back to a vanilla version. I have tons of old saves that are basically in permanent read-only mode because usage of old mods have resulted in them being hopelessly broken beyond loading them up and looking at them.
i had this bug aswell guys and it would make bullets in CE only bruise and melee attacks would do over 100 hits in 1 sec but it was solved when i removed better infestation
