Adjust your food restrictions so that corpses (and other inappropriate food like kibble) are prohibited to avoid that particular scenario again. Aside from cannibals and times of famine there's no reason for corpses to be part of your colonists' diet anyway.
I'd recommend doing something about that hive sooner rather than later (or just relocating), else given its proximity your next post will likely be about dealing with a colony-ending mega infestation .
That is usually a good start. But, it's also possible for them to pass through there if that is the shortest distance to some other location that is also home zone on the far side of the cave. Provided the cave is a through path, and not just a dead end.
To really solve the problem, there are mods that will make them much more likely to avoid areas.
Don't leave infestations on the map is another good option. The starting cave hives can be taken out with your starting colonists on anything but naked brutality, you can also see a map has these caves before settling there. Infestations that spawn from events you really don't want to leave on the map because they are only going to rapidly grow and something will eventually cause them to zerg your colony.
