Lung rot question

Hello,
I am confused about the lung rot. In the update notes from biotech it says that it's a core feature, but on the wiki it says that it can't happen without the dlc. Can someone clarify?

"Rotstink exposure now causes lung rot in Core. Previously the effects were defined in Core, and the Steam announcement for Update 1.4 mentioned it as a Core feature, however rot stink exposure and lung rot would not be applied without the Biotech DLC."

If I'm reading this right lung rot was supposed to be a core feature but wouldn't be applied without Biotech (which was probably unintended), and that got fixed so that it does happen in core.

Strange.. In my colony it does not affect the pawns maybe I am missing something.

Try drafting a pawn and forcing him to stand in a rot cloud for quite a while

Had a moment so tested this, if you don't have Biotech/have Biotech disabled, rot lung doesn't exist.
