This game loves pausing. On it's own.
Pauses itself constantly. No, there is no debug errors. No, I don't have the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pause on error thing on, because that is just criminal, and it's not on by default. No, there are no errors, of any sorts, period. The game just decides every so often, or sometimes even every few seconds, that it's going to pause itself. After unpausing for the 73rd time I started to ask myself, "How broken is this game?"

Doesn't hurt to clear your cache and verify again, probably won't help but sometimes it does.
I will say that some of the times I've verified files has fixed things, but idk, the pausing comes and goes, sometimes it's every few hours sometimes it's every few minutes.

There may be a corrupted file in the cache, it's not impossible worth clearing steams cache abd verifying just to check.

Verified files I don't know how many times, and experimented with a brand new save without any mods. Still pausing.
The only way for the game to actually pause itself is the pause on error option or if you are actually opening certain menus and letters. If that isn't happening then something else is going on on your system because it isn't the game doing that.
Opening the main menu or an information panel will do it, though only while open, raids or major dangers you need to be aware of will do it too. Game will slow down but not pause if a colonist or animal takes damage. Pretty limited circumstances.

The game can't even pause itself unless you checked pause on error, so you're definitely lying about something. My guess is that it's checked and your modlist is trash, and your rant about the problem persisting after removing all mods was just you finding excuses

Do you happen to eat on your keyboard and how greasy is your spacebar ?

lmao I love how everybody immediately blames me
Of course
Btw, a pen reads that it has zero nutrition growth, and it didn't before, plus I have animals starving in there despite everybody eating live plants and plants grow in there. I think this entire game is one giant glitch.
If I knew how to do a small video I would show you.

Yes of course, smooth brain. I must be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lying because who would ever tell the truth and want their game to work?
I know code and modding- mods are not the issue, my brand new empty ass save proves it when 4 minutes in it paused. I think I know when I'm pressing the button, and no, it isn't my keyboard ffs.

Standard deduction. I'm not having this issue in any other game or media. Period. Therefore it's something to do with this game. I removed mods so it isn't the mods. There is NO error, because the moment it pauses I open the debug logs, and there is nothing there.

Also yes, this game CAN pause itself without pause on error lmao.. learn what you're talking about before you type.

It does on a CRITICAL, critical error, the type that cause an exception which would crash any other game, but in this one it just causes it to pause and nullify whatever is breaking. Good when you have a problem that isn't really a problem, but bad when you have a situation like this that's the opposite. I had one glitch before that was causing this issue and I fixed it, but the problem is still happening so that wasn't the only cause. The fact that even in vanilla the game doesn't play properly, clearly indicates the game ITSELF is the issue, for whatever reason, unless somebody can find actual, and TANGIBLE proof that it isn't.

So far the realest comment. However, I do have a counter: I know. There is a setting for allowing auto-pause, and I do have it set to major threats. Even when I disabled that setting though, I am still having this issue.

Perfect example: I un-pause, completely step away from the keyboard, 30 seconds to 5 minutes later the game pauses itself. I turn on dev mod and check the logs, nothing.

Alright hackerman, did you reinstall the game yet ? Did you try closing the quest pop-ups so the game can resume ?

Have you tried upgrading your gameboy color to a PC ?
You're just getting blocked and reported lmao. If you're going to be useless and impotent don't bother, cheap insults don't get you anywhere in life kid. I came here for potential troubleshooting, and to see if anybody else is having this problem, not have somebody think they can one up me or something.

your cheap insults sure didn't fix your problem
My rig is not the issue, I can play games like Black Myth Wukong on Ultra, 144hz, 144 FPS, constant. It's the game.
I have no other issues besides pen animals not eating live plants and the pausing, but they still eat veggies so I can just manually feed them. But if I try to let the game just run, it pausing after only 3 minutes of run time, no errors, no threats, no letters, is clearly a big problem.

If you still think the game itself isn't broken, that pen has a total area of 2790, shows zero nutrition growth like I stated before, AND says that the pen size is "Very Small".
Because that's the only other thing that seems to be broken, I'm starting to wonder if they're connected.
