Yes, i know, but like i said the Person jumped to 1000XP with one Wall Piece construction, so i was wondering.
Unmodded barricades give normal exp like any other building with a resource cost and build time. While a colonist is constructing anything you can open their bio and hover the mouse over the skill to watch the exp go up in real time, it's not a chunk of exp at the end it's a constant trickle of exp while they are working. You should be able to place a barricade now and tell the colonist to build it and see it gives exp.
The amount of exp they get depends on how long they work on the thing, so it's possible to get 1000 exp from one wall yes if it takes them a very long time to build it. If you are using modded barricades then it's possible they give 0 exp, especially if they have no resource cost, or were built instantly.
And it shouldn´t make a difference to actually finish the item or building - or the quality of it. It´s different for certain tasks like medic, or fighting, or rolling joints. Sometimes it might not show the continuous XP gain, but would rather show an immediate gain, but this is probably a visual thing - may call it bug. It rarely happens, but i don´t pay attention to the XP gain.
Also with no passion it´s barely worth doing - except You have no constructor. I build one base with such a guy almost alone - but i would prefer to have a guy with at least one passion. Like it´s a huge difference, even more so when You need lvl 8 to not botch anything any more - and construction also has quality items, which means You want high lvl guys to do it later, but You wouldn´t really get the no passion guys to high levels if You don´t force it.
