Prisoner instantly escapes caravan.
Is there a mod or anything whatsoever to prevent prisoners being brought to home from a caravan from instantly escaping and leaving? They literally arrive, and within a second are gone. If not then I ask why, why even let us take prisoners on caravans at all if they're just going to be immediately erased the second they pop onto the map?

'Arrest Here!' mod lets you arrest a pawn in place without needing a bed/room. Keeps them arrested for when you arrive at your destination, too. I always use it for runs where I'm using vehicles of any sort.

you can always just cut their legs off before resuming the caravan. I do agree though the game devs seemed to have majorly missed this issue as it seems very much like a bug or maybe I'm missing something.

It's more that the game focuses on your colony rather than stuff happening elsewhere. The fact that caravans are still as buggy and missing features as they are is evidence that Tynan doesn't really consider them that important compared to the colony aspects.

Who knows, maybe one day he'll actually fix that stuff in another DLC, but personally I just use a number of mods that mostly fix the various issues.
Weird, they should hang around for at least a day when wandering outside without trying to escape. It could actually be a mod issue as I've never experienced this
How far was your caravan travelling? I'm mostly with MadArtillery on this one, the only times I've had caravan prisoners escape is when they spent enough time travelling to completely heal their injuries.

This was a roughly half day trip from dealing with a tox spewer, 3 person squad with one prisoner...I was frantic as heck when I made this because I was just so floored with how caravans are set up and how the game handles them at the time, I think going by what Radiosity said its likely the game thinking a vehicle is the one holding them. I DID consider to work around something like that by just sending two of the guys with the prisoner and having one take the vehicle back but got worried they'd be ambushed and the caravan menu made sending just some guys back a pain...and I wouldn't put it past this game to just delete the site if it thinks your done.

Having never used the vehicle mod, and never experienced this issue, there is at least correlation here, might be worth testing a bit yourself if it is vehicle tied or if normal caravans would also have the issue for your modlist. If anyone can narrow it down, it is likely you yourself on this one.

I think you are looking at this from the wrong perspective. The question is more what mod are you using that breaks caravans so that prisoners escape instantly. Unmodded you have plenty of time to get prisoners into a prison cell when a caravan arrives at a map.

There was a vanilla bug during 1.3 or 1.4 for some period of time where prisoners would stop being prisoners in a caravan and would flee the map or be hostile when the caravan arrived at a map, but that was fixed a long time ago.
It might be the vehicle mod, Vanilla Vehicles Expanded or one of the other supplementary mods? Sometimes the passenger seats get a little... wonky.

That's why I just stick with SRTS for my modded vehicular needs. Vanilla I just keep some horses around. With SRTS I just land my craft inside the hangar in my base, so prisoners don't get the chance to escape.
Vehicles and prisoners don't play nice unless you do something like I said and add a mod like Arrest Here. You should be able to claim a bed in an enemy camp, arrest the prisoner using that, then load them into the vehicle for transport, or you could build a quick structure and put down a sleeping spot to do the same thing if it's not actually an enemy camp (and therefore doesn't have beds).

The simplest option for vehicle runs is Arrest Here, however.
beat them with a club.
